With summer tennis programs in full force across the country, please keep us posted on your successes by emailing photos and news stories to cta@usta.com so that we may feature the great work of your organization. Today I am delighted to share with you the latest edition of the USTA CTA e-newsletter Game, Set, News. However before we access the newsletter, I have an update on several of the benefits we offer your organization as a registered USTA Community Tennis Association.
Many of you have inquired about your organization’s liability and/or directors and officers insurance coverage for 2009. If you have not done so please contact Eagle Risk Management at 888-654-USTA (8782) and renew or enroll today! The Master Liability Insurance Program offers up to $2 million in coverage against allegations of negligence resulting from bodily injury or property damage. This program offers coverage for liability claims such as: injury or death to a player or participant; accidental injury to a bystander or spectator; property damage to the tennis facility or site allegations of libel, slander, abuse or molestation; and the operation of a rented vehicle. CTAs with an annual budget of $25,000 or less pay a $165 annual contribution and CTAs with an annual budget of $25,000 or more pay a $465 annual contribution. You simply will not find such annual coverage at this cost anywhere on the market.
For those that have applied for the 2009 Round II Recreational Tennis Grant, those applications are being evaluated by our national review team and those notifications will be issued via email by September 26. The application for Round 1 of the 2010 Recreational Tennis Grant will be available in October at www.usta.com/grants.
I would encourage each of you to plan to send a representative to the upcoming 2010 USTA Community Tennis Development Workshop (CTDW) to be held January 22-24, 2010 in San Diego , California . This is the largest annual gathering of CTA leaders and it is a remarkable opportunity to network with other community based organizations, hear about new and exciting programs and learn and enhance skills to improve your organization. The USTA offers scholarships that cover the conference registration fee and 2 nights of hotel accommodations. To apply for a scholarship to the upcoming CTDW please visit www.usta.com/cta
Finally, I will remind you of another outstanding benefit we offer your organization as a registered CTA. The USTA has a talented and experienced facility assistance team that is ready to help you in your tennis facility renovation or court construction projects. If you would like more information or to request facility assistance please visit www.usta.com/technical and complete the Facility Inquiry Form.
For now please click www.usta.com/cta to enjoy some of our latest CTA success stories in this edition of Game, Set, News. You may also access a list of current benefits offered to your organization.
